- Studio photo mode: a slower, path-traced still for marketing images
- Set-up and testing on a staging copy of your shop
- 12 months of bug fixes and support
No hosting, subscription or licence costs. Everything runs inside your WordPress site; three.js and every other library are free open source (MIT or OFL).
Technology
- 3D viewer: three.js (WebGL 2), the same code you are using in this demo. Physically based wood materials with colour, relief and gloss maps cut from your photos.
- Geometry: your Fusion 360 STEP files converted to compressed glTF (meshopt). Dimensions stay identical to the CAD; see the accuracy page.
- Shop: a WordPress plugin with its own WooCommerce product type, a REST endpoint that recomputes price and weight on the server, and order meta with a preview image.
- Admin: WordPress screens for blade models, handle shapes, woods, designs, options, prices, weights and compatibility rules. No code editing.
1. Blade models and fixed constructions
- OPUS 1, PALIS, WAVE C and PULSE C, each with its fixed layer composition, size, base price and weight set in the admin. Customers choose a model only; Construction and Face veneer selections are removed.
- Wood textures come from your front and back photo pairs and are stored once per species, so every model and future model reuses them.
- Exploded view with the material name of every layer. Thickness shows only when its admin field is filled. Try it in the demo: Construction, Exploded plies.
2. Handle shapes, designs and internal construction
- Flared, straight, anatomical and penhold, each from your Fusion 360 geometry.
- 10 initial wood designs, adapted to every shape where they are compatible.
- Solid, partly hollow and maximally hollow handles. Each has its own volume from your CAD, so the weight estimate changes with it.
- Untreated and oiled finishes: oiled deepens the colour and adds a soft sheen; untreated stays matte.
- Compatibility rules in the admin hide combinations you cannot manufacture.
3. How a new handle design is created and published
Both routes you describe are realistic. Handle 2 in this demo was built with the second one: it is a small data file, not a hand-painted texture.
Route A: from photos of a finished handle (€20 per design)
Route B: modular, in your admin, free
Pick a handle shape, a base wood, then add stripes (position and width in mm, wood), an end cap (wood, thickness) and side lines. The preview updates live. Woods come from the same library as §1, so a new wood needs only its photo pair.
Handle 2 in this demo, as stored:
{ "name": "Handle 2", "base": "padauk",
"stripes": [ { "x_mm": -2.2, "w_mm": 1.0, "wood": "light" },
{ "x_mm": 0.05, "w_mm": 0.9, "wood": "light" },
{ "x_mm": 2.15, "w_mm": 0.95, "wood": "light" } ],
"side_line_mm": 0.6, "end_cap_mm": 5.0 }
Limits of route B: straight laminations along the handle, end caps and side lines work. Curved or irregular inlays, burl or figured patterns, and hand-shaped details do not; those go through route A.
Extra package of 10 designs: included in Complete+. Otherwise €20 per design through route A.
4. Personalisation and live calculations
- Optional flag or symbol on the handle from your image files, and the model-name plate. Both show and hide in the 3D view.
- Engraving only in the serial-number area of the blade face, in your serial font and style.
- Live price and estimated weight on every change, shown with ±5 g. Every component (logos, labels, flags, hollow options) has its own price and weight field in the admin.
- This demo already computes weight from your CAD volumes; see how.
5. 3D presentation and image output
- Free rotation in every direction with no locked axis, so the butt can be viewed straight on and from below. Views: front, back, edge, handle, butt and exploded layers.
- Fast preview: compressed models and textures, a lighter texture set on phones, handles switch in under a millisecond.
- Image export, in the browser: PNG up to 4096 px, white or transparent background, from any view. Try Save image in the demo. Complete+ adds the studio photo mode for slower, softer marketing stills; it runs only when asked, so it never slows normal use.
- No acrylic stand.
6. WordPress, WooCommerce and administration
- The configured blade goes into the real WooCommerce cart and checkout. The server recomputes the price, so a changed price in the browser is rejected.
- Every selection is saved to the order, the admin order view and the customer emails, with a preview image.
- Admin screens for models, 3D assets, woods, designs, sizes, prices, weights, labels, flags and rules.
- Share links that reopen a configuration. This demo has one: Share this blade.
- You receive all source code, 3D assets, editable files, setup instructions and admin documentation.
7. Acceptance, milestones and terms
Yes: the 4 blade models, 4 handle shapes, 10 initial wood designs, 3 internal structures, every listed option, the exploded view, the WooCommerce integration and the admin tools are all inside the fixed price.
